We aim to improve the development and application of simulation as a broad and innovative approach to education and training

Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare

Formed in 2009 through the merger of the National Association of Medical Simulators (NAMS) and the Clinical Skills Network (CSN) the overarching goal of ASPiH will be to enable wider sharing of knowledge, expertise, and educational innovation related to simulated practice across the healthcare professions.

Aims

  • provide an effective communication network for those involved in simulated practice in the UK and beyond
  • provide quality exemplars of best practice in the application of simulated practice to education, training, assessment and research in healthcare
  • establish key benefits and evidence of impact linking simulated practice with improvements in patient safety and quality of care
  • develop and share key operational and strategic resources for members drawn from experience within the association and from links with relevant educational bodies nationally and internationally
  • encourage and support scholarly development and recognition of members through wider dissemination of innovative practice at scientific meetings and publications

Membership

The association invites membership from all of those involved in the organisation and delivery of healthcare education, training and research using any forms of simulation and would encourage interested individuals to contact the secretariat.

Future Conference Host Applications 2013

ASPiH welcomes applications from its members as a host venue for the 2013 ASPiH Conference.

In order to be considered as a host venue for a future ASPiH annual conference we invite the local proposer to complete the below application form. This includes providing details of the suggested venue, various supporting administrative and logistics information, and an idea of who is willing to commit their time as a member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

The ASPiH Executive Committee appreciate that the experience, enthusiasm and vision of the local organisers are absolutely critical factors in the success of this important event in our calendar. Equally we hope that hosting this event will provide an impetus or focus for the local institution(s) and members of the LOC to develop and demonstrate their profile and reputation in healthcare education and workforce development at a national level.

An online version of the application form can be found here.

Deadline for submissions is 31st May 2012.
