Chaamanti Sivakumar, sASPiH Co-Chair of Operations

Hi, I'm Chaamanti. I’m currently taking time out from my undergraduate medical degree to intercalate in Clinical Neuroscience at King's College London. I'm one of the medical students involved with Hull Institute of Learning and Simulation, in particular looking at the usage of high technological-fidelity simulation to teach in near-peer settings, as well as being heavily involved in the Medical Education Student Society at HYMS.

Sarah Taylor, sASPiH Co-chair of Communications

Hi, I'm Sarah and I am a 5th year medical student, currently intercalating at Sheffield. My introduction to the world of simulation was through the Hull-York Medical School Pre-Hospital Care Programme (PCP), where it is used to teach acute & emergency management. I'm still very much involved with the PCP, performing QIP on patient safety amongst our ambulance service trained responders as well as being a first responder myself. My long term aim is to combine a career in anaesthetics with a medical education role. Outside of medicine, I enjoy hockey and baking (and consuming the results!) I'm passionate about good quality simulation for students from all healthcare professions, and look forward to working for you over the next two years.

Alan Campbell, sASPiH Co-chair of Development

Alan is an FY1 Doctor at Barts Health NHS Trust in London. His interests in clinical simulation include expanding undergraduate access and surgical simulation. He founded a medical student-run and delivered simulation programme. His mission as sASPiH Co-Chair is to support student and trainee simulation and help committed juniors build valid and successful programmes for the benefit of their peers.

He has a background in science, holding a Master of Chemistry degree, and in financial consulting. Subsequently, he trained in medicine as a graduate at the University of Cambridge and has clinical interests in trauma and orthopaedics. Beyond simulation, he has research interests in pre-hospital care and looks toward the study of pathologic basis of orthopaedic disease and rehabilitation.

Kathryn Taylor, sASPiH Committee member

Kathryn is currently working as a junior doctor in Trent. She has a passion for trauma and aneasthetics, with interests in teaching and simulation. Her interests in trauma stem from being incredibly accident prone and breaking various limbs, including her pelvis She also enjoys playing hockey in her free time.

Alexandra Abel, sASPiH Committee member

Hi there, I'm Alex and I'm a 4th year medical student at Hull York Medical School. I work with the Hull Institute for Learning and Simulation and our Medical Education Student Society. Before medical school, I was based at the Centre for Performance Science at the Royal College of Music.

Dan Jafferji Cambridge Undergraduate Simulation Programme Liaison

Hey, I’m Dan and a current clinical medical student at the University of Cambridge. I’ve been involved in simulated practice to some extent or another for a number of years, starting when I was a first year undergraduate volunteering lending a hand on resuscitation courses in the region, to eventually qualifying a Immediate Life Support Instructor with the Resuscitation Council (UK) and being appointed as a Bank Resuscitation Officer within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Along side this, I've also been heavily involved within the creation of the Cambridge Undergraduate Simulation Programme, a programme which aims to widen medical student exposure to clinical simulation though the use of peer-to-peer facilitation
